STANDISH-STERLING - Jan. 28, 2010 - Standish-Sterling's Abbye Gulvas continued her recent high-scoring ways Thursday, scoring 24 points to lead the Panthers to a 69-48 victory over Pinconning.

The Panthers, who hit 11 3-pointers against Pinny in their first meeting, hit 10 this time around, including five by Gulvas and four more from Brooke Bartlett.

"Abbye is really seeing the rim well, getting open and squaring up for her shot," said SSC coach Kevin King. "She had a great night; that's two in a row, so hopefully we can keep that rolling.

"And with Brooke shooting well too, it's kind of 'pick your poison.'"

Bartlett finished with 12 points, with Paige Raes adding 11 and Allison Collier nine.

Cassidy Vieau, whose season high of 20 points came against SSC (12-2, 5-1 NEMC) in their first meeting, led Pinny with 19 this time around. Dana Mayer added 11 for the Spartans (3-11, 1-5).
