POSEN - Jan. 28, 2010 - Posen's girls basketball team used a 12-6 run in the third quarter to snap a halftime tie on the way to a 40-36 defeat of Fairview on Thursday.
Korynn Hincka had 16 points and Janice Ciarkowski added 10, but Posen coach Karl Momrik said their defensive play was a big key to the win.
"Korynn and Janice defended (Fairview's) Kayla Weaver," he said. "They just did a phenomenal job, especially in the second half."
Weaver finished with 12 points for the Eagles (8-5, 6-4 NSL), all of them in the first half.
Posen improved to 8-6 (6-4) with the win. |
