Bobby Sanch (24) and the Standish-Sterling Panthers snapped a two-game losing streak Wednesday with a 64-32 victory over Oscoda despite playing without injured center Cole Walderzak.

STANDISH-STERLING - Feb. 23, 2010 - Oscoda got off to a strong start in each half, but Standish-Sterling owned the rest of the contest Wednesday as the Panthers toppled the Owls 64-32.

Brandon McCausey and Julius Freeland opened the contest with 3-pointers to give the Owls a 6-0 lead, but SSC quickly responded with a 20-1 run in which all five starters scored to take control of the game.

McCausey finished the quarter with a 3-point play to get Oscoda to within 20-10. SSC's Tanner Trombley converted three steals into five quick points for SSC early in the second quarter and the Panthers went on to take a 33-16 halftime lead.

Oscoda opened the third quarter with two quick baskets, but couldn't handled the Panthers' speed and size the rest of the way.

The Panthers, still playing without injured center Cole Walderzak, had all 10 players who saw action score, led by Bobby Sanch and Ryan Whitman with 10 points apiece.

Kyle McCausey led the Owls (2-16) with 14 points, with Brandon McCausey adding seven.
