WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Mar. 4, 2010 - Hale built a 30-18 halftime lead at Whittemore-Prescott, then ran up 25 points in the third quarter to pull away to a 68-40 victory on Thursday to close out the regular season.

The Eagles' inside tandem of Christian Mudry and Ben Katterman combined for 12 points in the second quarter, but went outside to get things going in the third quarter.

"We took a little while to settle in on the offensive end but we did a nice job getting to the paint against their zone in the second quarter," said Hale coach Ryan Parkinson. "Eddy (Cadwell) came out and hit two 3's after halftime and really got us going."

The Eagles hit just 7-of-19 free throws but Parkinson was otherwise pleased with his team's play heading into Monday's district tournament opener with Fairview.

"All our guys did a good job handling the full court press," Parkinson said. It was a very physical game and I'm happy to get out without anyone else getting hurt."

Katterman finished with 21 points and seven rebounds, Mudry had 16 points, 12 boards and six assists and Evan Caverly scored 12 points and had four steals as Hale finished the regular season at 18-2.

Clay Loomis had 14 points and Matt Harrington added 11 for the Cardinals (5-15).
