HALE - Feb. 5, 2010 - Hale took control early in the first half of its North Star League boys basketball contest with Fairview and stayed unbeaten with a 57-32 victory.

Hale hit on all cylinders in the first quarter as it took a 21-12 lead, then held Fairview to a single basket by Theo Handrich in the second quarter as the lead grew to 34-14.

"We did a really good job on the offensive end in the first quarter, which really got us going," said Hale coach Ryan Parkinson. "We flipped it around in the second and did a great job on the defensive end of the floor."

As they have all season, Hale dominated inside. Winter homecoming king Christian Mudry scored 21 points and Ben Katterman added 20 as the two combined to shoot 16-of-22 from the floor.

Christian Moody added 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

"I am really proud of our effort tonight," Parkinson said. "Just like any game we have some items to work on, but it was a great way to celebrate homecoming.

"Fairview played hard as usual and I thought we did a good job responding to that energy."

Theo Handrich and Garrett Willobee each scored seven points to lead Fairview (4-9, 1-9 NSL).

Hale (12-0, 10-0) has a quick turnaround, playing Saturday afternoon against Tawas Area at the Palace of Auburn Hills.
