ESSEXVILLE GARBER - Dec. 16, 2008 - The Oscoda boys swim team sank to 0-2 on the season losing to Garber Tuesday night 118-61.
The normally solid medley relay team of Gaskell, Haglund, Ostrander and Nolff was touched out to take 2nd. David Gonzalez and Jairo Peralta combined for a 4-5 finish while both first year swimmers lowered their times to lifetime bests.
Bryce Haglund, Kyle Ostrander and Thomas York swam to a 3-4-5 finish in the IM and Ray gaskell and Michael York swam to a 2-5 finish in the 50 free. Ray Gaskell took the nights first first place finish in diving scoring a season best 200.15. Coty Nolff followed up with a first place finish of his own in the fly supported by Kyle Ostrander taking 4th. Michael York and Buddy Jackson swam to a 4-5 finish in the 100 free and Coty Nolff, Ken Parent, and David Gonzalez finished 3-4-5 in the 500.
Gaskell, Haglund, Ostrander and Nolff took 2nd in the 200 free relay. Chris Vandruska, Sean Hall and Dave Nichols finished 3-4-5 in the back and Bryce Haglund swam to a lifetime best 1:10.46 in the breast and finishing 2nd while Thomas York and Ken Parent finished 3rd and 5th in support. York, Hall, York, and Parent finished out the 400 free relay taking 3rd.
