OSCODA - Feb. 5, 2009 - Oscoda celebrated its second win this week and improved to 5-4 on the season in a 102-70 win over Alpena.

  Thomas York, Buddy Jackson, and Mike York took 2nd in the Medley Relay.  Kyle Ostrander and Mike York combined for a 1-4 fininsh in the 200 free and Bryce Haglund and Coty Nolff finished 1-2 in the IM.  Kyle Ostrander and Dave Nichols took 1-5 in the 50 and Ray Gaskell and Dave Nichols swept diving with a 1-2 finish as well. 

During the diving break Coach Rush took time to honor the graduating seniors for their hard work and dedication.  Included in the celebration were Ray Gaskell, Bryce Haglund, Dave Nichols, Kyle Ostrander, Ken Parent and Thomas York with a combined 18 years of swimming experience. 

When the action picked back up, Coty Nolff and Dave Gonzalez finished 1-3 in the fly and Thomas York and Buddy Jackson combined for a 1-4 finish in a hard fought race.  Ken Parent and David Gonzalez finished 2-4 in the 500 free and Gaskell, Haglund, Nolff and Ostrander swam to a 1st in the 200 free relay. 

Ray Gaskell, Buddy Jackson and Mike York finished 1-4-5 in the back while Bryce Haglund set a personal best in the breast and combined with teammates Thomas York and Ken Parent for a sweep of the breast.  Ostrander, Nolff, Gaskell and Haglund and Nichols, Gonzalez, Parent and York swam to a 1-3 finish in the 400 free relay.  The Owls travel to Dewitt Saturday.
