MT. MORRIS - Jan. 28, 2009 - Oscoda traveled to Mt. Morris to participate in a rare Wednesday evening invitational and came away with 198 points overall, good enough for a third place finish. Brandon was the overall winner scoring 400 points, Lapeer East and West 223 each topping Oscoda.  Rounding out the competition was Ovid Elsie with 186, Mt. Morris with 134 and Flint Southwestern with 100. 

Once again Oscoda swam well but was unable to overcome the depth of the larger squads.  Scoring for the Owl attack were Ray Gaskell, Bryce Haglund, Coty Nolff and Kyle Ostrander taking home the gold  in the Medley relay.  Kyle Ostrander swam to a 4th place finish in the 200, Coty Nolff and Bryce Haglund finished 2-4 in the IM, Ray Gaskell won the diving, Coty Nolff took 2nd in the fly while Thomas York took 11th. 

Kyle Ostrander took 3rd in the 500.  In the 200 free relay, Buddy Jackson, Ken Parent, Mike York and Thomas York took 6th, Ray Gaskell won his 2nd individual event when he cruised to an easy victory in the back, Bryce Haglund, Thomas York and Ken Parent finished 1-5-9 in the breast.  Oscoda placed 3rd in the 400 free relay behind the efforts of Gaskell, Haglund, Nolff and Ostrander.
