Outlook: The Owls look to build on last season with a strong core of returning swimmers and a larger roster of athletes.

"We should have solid efforts from each of our returning swimmers," says Oscoda coach Jeff Rush. "But we won't have a lot of initial depth. We'll be counting on some of our newer swimmers  to step up and help the cause in both dual meets and invitationals."

Two-time state diving qualifier Ray Gaskell returns for his senior season and looks to repeat his top-12 state finish of last season.

The Owls also have several swimmers who should endanger a number of school records. In addition to looking at the diving record, Gaskell is a threat to break the butterfly mark. Coty Nolff also could break the fly mark, while Kyle Ostrander will be a threat in the 50-free and Bryce Haglund is closing in on the breast stroke record.

"If these goals are reached," Rush says, "the medley relay record should be in jeopardy as well."
