CADILLAC - Feb. 23, 2009 - Ogemaw Heights' girls basketball team bounced back quickly from Friday's loss at Tawas Area, avenging an early-season loss to Cadillac with a 66-55 victory on Monday.

The Falcons led from the outset, scoring the first six points and taking an 18-11 lead at the quarter mark.

"We played a great all-around game," said Ogemaw coach Tim Hansen. "The worry going in was that we would be flat coming off an emotional loss to Tawas, but it was evident from the start that we were focused.

"Everyone contributed."

Ashley Thompson scored 30 points to lead all scorers, including 22 in the second half that included going 10-of-11 at the free throw line.

Josie Wiltse scored nine of her 11 points in the first half and Rilee Palm scored all eight of hers as the Falcons led 27-22 at the break.

The Falcons (15-4) close out the regular season at home on Friday against Whittemore-Prescott.
