OSCODA - Mar. 5, 2009 - If ever a team looked to be peaking at the right time of year, it's the Ogemaw Heights boys basketball squad.
The Falcons, after a 4-7 start, finished off the regular season with nine straight victories, the last coming Thursday in a 67-45 win at Oscoda.
The Falcons outscored Oscoda in every quarter, leading 38-22 at the half and maintaining it from there.
Alex Rose paced Ogemaw Heights (13-7) with 15 points, with Anthony Zettel and Robby Kish adding 11 apiece and Alex Jennings scoring nine.
Tom Schonfeld, Justin Cain and Paul Andrade each scored nine points for Oscoda.
The Falcons open district tournament play Monday at Beaverton against Tawas Area.
Oscoda hosts its district opener on Wednesday against either Hale or Inland Lakes.
