HALE - Jan. 6, 2009 - Tanner Shellenbarger and Christian Mudry scored 16 points, with Lane Self, Christian Moody and Nick Katterman adding eight apiece to pace Hale to a 61-34 non-conference victory over Oscoda on Tuesday.
Shellenbarger drilled three 3-pointers in the first quarter to get Hale off to a quick start and finished with five in the game.
"We did a great job moving the ball," said Hale coach Ryan Parkinson. "Tanner shot the ball from (3-point range) very well, which really opened things up for us inside."
The Eagles led 31-15 at the half and opened the lead up further with a 19-8 third quarter.
Mudry and Katterman each had 10 rebounds, Drew Compau had five assists and seven rebounds and Self and Evan Caverly each added four steals.
"It was a fairly physical game, and those are good games to win," Parkinson said. "Oscoda hustled all night and played a lot of kids."
Tom Schonfeld and Kyle McCausey paced the Owls (0-3) with eight points apiece, with Zach Shelton adding six.
Hale (6-0) travels to Posen on Thursday while Oscoda plays at Tawas on Saturday. |
