OGEMAW HEIGHTS - May 8, 2009 - Tawas Area outdistanced Mio AuSable and Whittemore-Prescott on Friday in the small-school division of the Ogemaw Heights Team Invitational.

The Braves set a meet record in the 4x100 relay as Richelle Payea, Chelsea Wojahn, Shelby Benoit and Dana Kolnitys won with a time of 53.21.

Other Tawas winners included the 4x800 relay team of Chelsea Smith, Olivia Bolen, Alaina Nunn and Emily Short (11:16.36); Sara Blust in the high jump (4-7); Kaitlin Challenger in the pole vault (8-0); Samantha Duvall in the 100 hurdles (18.55); Kolnitys in the 100 (13.66) and 200 (28.02); Amy Johnson, Julie Enzenberger, Challenger and Duvall in the 4x200 (2:05.24); Short in the 1600 (5:58.24) and 3200 (12:40.64); Payea in the 800 (2:36.63); and Kolnitys, Wojahn, Payea and Benoit in the 4x400 (4:20.01).

Mio's lone winner was Deserae Kauffman in the long jump (14-3).

Winners for W-P were Larrissa McGeathy in the discus (96-10) and shot put (29-9); and Jessica Dietzel in the 300 hurdles (55.43).
