JOHN GLENN - May 1, 2009 - Standish-Sterling had three event wins to top local teams at Friday's John Glenn Invitational, which was dominated by Carrollton.

The Cavaliers won the meet with 124 points to top Clare (94) by 30, followed by SSC (80), Ogemaw Heights (61) and John Glenn (38).

The Panthers' Ashlyn Gulvas won the discus (130-10) and shot put (42-4) while Katie Ouillette took the long jump (14-0).

Other top finishers for the Panthers included Kierstin Sanch in the pole vault (4th, 6-6); Jennifer Lentz in the 100 hurdles (4th, 18.81), 100 dash (4th, 14.38) and 300 hurdles (2nd, 52.17); Lentz, Kelsey Daniel, Jessica Cousins and Ouillette in the 4x200 relay (2nd, 2:00.39); Maddison Kusey, Daniel, Jessica Cousins and Sarah Cousins in the 4x100 relay (2nd, 56.14); Ouillette in the 400 (2nd, 1:05.12); Ashley Pickvet in the 800 (4th, 2:44.28); Jessica Cousins in the 200 (3rd, 29.62); and the 4x400 relay (2nd, 4:23.0).

Ogemaw Heights, which was not at full strength, was led by Rylee Nowak, Adrien Steinhurst, Shiloh St. Andrew and Laken Morrison in the 4x800 relay (3rd, 11:20.46); Kayla Brindley (2nd, 126-3) and Lauren Steinhurst (3rd, 115-5) in the discus; Kristeen Soper in the high jump (2nd, 4-8); Ashley Hebert (2nd, 7-0) and Cheyenne St. Andrew (3rd, 6-6) in the pole vault; Kayla Brindley in the shot put (2nd, 37-4); Keely Wyatt in the 400 (4th, 1:10.89); and Shiloh St. Andrew in the 3200 (4th, 13:41.83).

John Glenn was led by Bri Kokaly's win in the 100 hurdles (17.37).
