OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Apr. 29, 2009 - Tawas Area's girls track team edged Ogemaw Heights in event wins on Wednesday, but the Falcons claimed more second and third-place spots and claimed the NEMC dual meet 70.5-66.5 to stay unbeaten in league head-to-head matchups.

The Falcons got wins from Lauren Steinhurst in the discus (115-8); Kristeen Soper in the high jump (4-8); Kalena Franklin in the long jump (15-7), 100 hurdles (16.34) and 200 (27.48); Stephanie Brindley in the shot put (29-8.5); Kristian Franklin, Brianne Price, Soper and Kalena Franklin in the 4x200 (1:55.59); Kristian Franklin in the in the 300 hurdles (54.89);

Tawas's winners were the 4x800 relay team of Alaina Nunn, Olivia Bolen, Chelsea Smith and Emily Short (11:48.58); Kaitlin Challenger in the pole vault (7-9); Dana Kolnitys in the 100 (14.02); Emily Short in the 1600 (5:51.97) and 3200 (12:25.55); Richelle Payea, Shelby Benoit, Chelsea Wojahn and Kolnitys in the 4x100 (54.39); Benoit in the 400 (1:09.27); Payea in the 800 (2:44.31); and Kolnitys, Wojahn, Charity Cardinal and Benoit in the 4x400 (4:45.20).
