Oscoda 9, at Arthur Hill 0

SAGINAW ARTHUR HILL - May 7, 2009 - It took just 21 seconds for Chelsea Carraway to score the winning goal in Thursday nights soccer match and to get the Oscoda Lady Owls back in the win column.

The Owls shut out Saginaw Arthur Hill by mercy rule after the first 40 minutes, 9-0.

Carraway scored two more times in the match to get the hat-trick but she was not even the high scorer after Dani Griffin netted four goals in as many shots.  Also picking up goals were Katia Kotula, the senior's first varsity strike, with one and Katy Peacock.  Credited with assists were, Kelli Lehman, Krystin Inman, Carraway, Kotula, Kelbi Clarke, Griffin, Rushelle Sidebottom, Ashley Suzsek and Peacock.

Oscoda improves to 5-6.  Arthur Hill remains winless on the season.

"It was a game we needed after the stretch we've had (0-3)," said Oscoda Coach Gary Schneider.  "I'm glad I got the chance to play the defense up front and get some experience for the younger players on defense for next season."

Goalkeeper Nicole Jackson did not face any shots but did get a good view of the action.

"We played good tonight," she said. "We had a lot of passing and really worked the give and go."
