WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Oct. 21, 2009 - John Glenn kept its NEMC title hopes alive Wednesday with a victory at Whittemore-Prescott, 25-16, 25-17, 25-14.

"Very inconsistent play tonight with too many serving errors," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "John Glenn played steady and with a lot of hustle."

Glenn (24-8-1, 7-2 NEMC) remained a game behind league-leading Tawas Area, which defeated Ogemaw Heights to clinch at least a share of its first title since 1980. The Bobcats can earn a share of the championship with a win at Standish-Sterling next week if Tawas loses at Pinconning.

W-P (15-10-1, 3-6) was led by Staci Ostrander with seven kills and three blocks and Jordan Maxwell with 25 assists and two aces.
