WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Sep. 9, 2009 - Whittemore-Prescott picked up its first NEMC volleyball victory of the season Wednesday with a three-game sweep of Standish-Sterling, 25-19, 25-22, 25-17.

W-P coach Helen Loomis said that with the exception of errors from the service line, the Cards played their best match of the season.

"Chelsea Jasman and Leighanna Loomis had great net games," she said. "Everyone's back row passing and digs were controlled and accurate.

"We plan on keying in on this victory and will continue to practice hard and improve."

Leading the Cards (2-2, 1-2 NEMC) were Jasman with five blocks and three aces; Loomis with 10 spike kills; Jordan Maxwell with 14 assists; and Ali Bronson with 12 digs.

SSC fell to 1-6 (0-2).
