OSCODA - Oct. 5, 2009 - Standish-Sterling was not at full strength Monday, but still managed to hold on for a 25-14, 25-11, 29-27 victory at Oscoda.
The Panthers were playing without Brooke Bartlett (injured) and Chelsea Szostak (ill) but still prevailed.
"Kaylee Foote stepped in to set for us along with Karina Pierce," said SSC coach Becky Murphy. "The girls played very well and I was happy with their mental toughness in the last game."
Leading the Panthers (7-13-2) were Jessica Fenner with nine kills, Christina Proulx with five blocks, Foote with 25 assists and Megan Heiser with 12 digs.
Oscoda fell to 8-6-2.
