PINCONNING - Sep. 15, 2009 - Pinconning withstood Standish-Sterling's strong first game, then put the hammer down in defeating the Panthers 28-26, 25-11, 25-15 in Wednesday night NEMC volleyball action.
"We played our best game of the year (in the first set)," said SSC coach Becky Murphy. "But we fell apart in the second and third sets."
Leading the Spartans (8-9, 2-1 NEMC) were Kelsey Beck with 26 digs; Chelsea Adcock with nine kills; Emme Duranczyk with eight aces; and Chelsea Gruszynski with 22 assists.
SSC fell to 2-7 (0-4).
