OSCODA - Oct. 22, 2009 - Oscoda's volleyball team celebrated its Senior Night on Thursday with a three-game sweep of visiting Alcona.

The Owls, who had lost earlier in the week at Skeels Christian with a number of the players suffering from the flu, showed they'd return to health with a strong outing against the Tigers.

"Our seniors had a very good year," said Oscoda coach Laura Franklin. The Owls will be losing Shannon Fowler, Mia Beliveau, Niki Shugart, Stephanie Campbell, Lelia Cotton and Megan Zarachowicz to graduation.

The Owls (11-9-1) host Whittemore-Prescott on Monday, then open district tournament play Monday, Nov. 2 at Rogers City against the host squad.
