ATLANTA - Oct. 15, 2009 - Hale's volleyball team continued to struggle with injuries and illness Thursday, losing in three games at Atlanta 25-12, 25-23, 25-14.

"The girls played hard," said Hale coach Heather Chrivia. "Unfortunately we couldn't pull out the win."

Chrivia said she had to shuffle the Eagles' lineup just to keep a full team on the floor.

Freshmen Jessica LaBranche and Lauren Moritz played new positions for the first time, as well as filling in at the service line.

"They did a great job," Chrivia said. "Jessica had some of the best digs and passes of the night and Lauren was really strong on the net. Halley (Wolkens) had 100 percent serving and had some great aces.

"We just couldn't get into the swing of things ... They tried hard and worked with each other great."

Hale (7-11-2, 5-5 North Star League) hosts Mio on Tuesday, Oct. 20, while Atlanta (9-3, 7-3) is at AuGres-Sims.
