SAGINAW MICHIGAN LUTHERAN SEMINARY - Nov. 5, 2009 - Arenac Eastern won a district volleyball tournament match for the first time in the program's history Thursday, coming from behind to defeat AuGres-Sims 25-23, 19-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-12.

"It was a very exciting night," said AE coach Hannah Neil.

Leading AE (4-17) were Sara Wenkel with 39 assists, Erin Ecker with five aces, six digs and five kills, and Maddie Forshee with six blocks.

The Eagles move on to Saturday's district championship match against Bay City All Saints.
