HARRISON - Aug. 28, 2009 - Matt Compau rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns and returned a fumble for a third score as Tawas Area romped past Harrison in its season-opener on Friday.
Tyler Samuels had four rushes for 81 yards and a 50-yard touchdown, while Jeremy Fuller added 78 yards rushing on six carries and a pair of scores. Senior quarterback Jesse Siwek rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown while passing for 85 yards, including a 64-yard scoring strike to Tim Schmidt.
Seth Thomas led the defense with 17 solo tackles and five assists, with Justin Ott adding eight tackles and three assists. The Braves forced six turnovers, including two rumble recoveries by Chris Ross and a Siwek interception.
Tawas (1-0) hosts Beaverton (0-1) in its home opener on Thursday, Sep. 3.
