ARENAC EASTERN - Oct. 23, 2009 - Arenac Eastern celebrated its first winning season since 2000 with a 70-18 defeat of Akron-Fairgrove on Friday.

The Eagles rushed for 472 yards and scored 10 touchdowns while running just 33 plays and didn't pass once in rolling past the outmanned Vikings. A-F was playing just its second 11-man game of the season, losing 42-6 to AuGres-Sims in the season-opener.

AE rolled to a 52-12 lead at the half as Caleb Whitney ran for touchdowns of 11 and eight yards, Graham Morgan had scoring runs of 23 and 24 yards, Joey Kramer added touchdown runs of 52 and three yards and Brandon Gould added a six-yard TD.

John Chmura also made a tackle in the end zone to give AE a safety.

With a running clock already in play to start the second half, Morgan took the Eagles' first play from scrimmage in the third quarter 80 yards for his third touchdown of the night. Kramer added a 31-yarder and Gould a five-yard score in the fourth.

Morgan had 161 yards on seven carries and Kramer added 157 yards on seven carries to lead the offense. Al Bilacic and Kyle Zobel each had 12 tackles on defense.

AE (5-4) loses Morgan, Chmura, Bilacic, Whitney and J.R. Ellsworth to graduation but will return most of its roster intact for 2010.
