MIO AuSABLE - Sep. 3, 2009 - Arenac Eastern gave Mio a battle into the second quarter, staying as close as 16-12 at one point and trailing 26-12 at the half.

But Mio exploded for 24 points in the second half to pull away to a 50-12 victory over the Eagles in the first North Star League conference game of the year.

Zach Pillars finished with 149 yards rushing on nine carries, including a 97-yard scoring run. Garret Price added two touchdowns and Grant Price had a 47-yard run. Neil Hansen added a 45-yard fumble return for a touchdown and Zac Bills added one short touchdown run.

Aaron Smith had 12 tackles and Bills added 10 for the Bolts (1-1, 1-0 NSL).

Graham Morgan rushed for 99 yards on 25 carries to lead AE (1-1, 0-1), including touchdown runs of one yard in the first quarter and four yards in the second.

Caleb Whitney added 97 yards on 16 carries, while Al Bilacic had 11 tackles, John Chmura added 10 stops and Buford Jones added eight.
