Falcons fourth at home invite

OGEMAW HEIGHTS - Dec. 8, 2007 - Ogemaw Heights didn't wrestle at full varsity strength at its home invitational on Saturday, but still placed fourth out of 10 teams overall.

With a relatively inexperienced lineup, Falcon coach Darryl Keeton elected to wrestle several of his athletes in the JV tournament the previous night. Ogemaw filled just seven of 14 weight classes at Saturday's varsity invitational

"We had some very good individual performances," Keeton said.

Three Falcons -- Chris Hebert (119 pounds), Andrew Funsch (130) and Anthony Carollo (189) each won their weight classes, while Kyle Scott (135), Michael Lentz (140), Drake Killinger (152) and Allen Good (189) each finished second.

Placing in Friday's JV tourney were Masen Henretta (103, 4th place), Aaron Dougherty (135, 4th); Josh Burton (189, 2nd) and Tyson Little (215, 2nd).

Hale also particpated in the tournament, with John Hamilton (215) heading up the Eagles' efforts with a second-place finish. Cody Stoll, Aaron Trevarrow and Ronnie Bleeda each won two matches apiece but didn't place.

The Falcons wrestle at Alpena on Wednesday against the Wildcats and Rogers City.
