WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Dec. 7, 2007 - Julie Janish knocked down 15 first-half points and Sharesse King scored all of her 10 points after halftime as Whittemore-Prescott earned its first NEMC victory of the season Friday, 56-23 over Oscoda.
The Cardinals bolted to a 19-4 first-quarter lead and maintained a 15-point margin until halftime.
W-P then blew the game open with an 18-2 third quarter that put the Cards up 47-16.
"Ten of our 11 players scored," said W-P coach Barb Janish. "It was a good team effort."
Janish finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, six steals and four assists while King added eight rebounds and four assists.W-P improved to 2-1 (1-1 NEMC) with the win.
Margaret Negro and Sarah Inman each scored five for the Owls (1-4, 0-2).
