OSCODA - Dec. 4, 2007 - In a game originally scheduled for Monday, the Fairview girls basketball team outscored Oscoda 36-18 in the middle two quarters to take a 57-33 non-conference win on Tuesday.
"That was a very good team," said Oscoda coach Chris Manick. "I think they'd compete well with Ogemaw Heights, though they might wear out (with only eight girls in uniform). I was impressed."
The Owls stayed in the game for a quarter, but despite 20 points from Heather Patterson couldn't stay with the Eagles, this season's North Star League favorite. Kayla Weaver scored 23 points and Alora Haskin added 13 as Fairview improved to 2-1.
Oscoda (1-3) plays at Whittemore-Prescott on Friday while Fairview hosts Arenac Eastern.
