FAIRVIEW - Feb. 5, 2008 - Oscoda's girls basketball team was blown off the floor by Fairview the first time the teams played in December. Tuesday was a different matter as the Owls took a four point lead after one quarter and trailed by two at halftime before the Eagles pulled away to a 52-37 victory.
All five Oscoda starters scored in the opening quarter as the Owls took a 15-11 lead, but Fairview bounced back to take a 21-19 halftime lead as Alora Haskin scored 12 of her 18 points before the half.
It was Kayla Weaver that hurt Oscoda in the second half, scoring 10 points in the third quarter as the Eagles pulled out to a 39-27 lead.
Haskin finished with a game-high 18 points for the Eagles (15-1), winners of 15 straight, while Weaver added 16 and Indigo Szubelak 10.
Margaret Negro and Heather Spenceley each scored eight to lead Oscoda (2-15). |
