JOHN GLENN - Feb. 12, 2008 - Things started well enough Tuesday for the Ogemaw Heights girls basketball team at John Glenn.
But after taking an 11-5 first-quarter lead the Falcons lost their advantage, lost Keshia Allen to an injury that could cost her the rest of the season, and eventually lost the game 55-39.
"We started off well and hit a few shots early, but we cooled off and struggled to get the ball through the hoop," said Ogemaw coach Tim Hansen. "We've been getting decent shots all season; we just have to knock a few more down. The kids have been playing well lately."
The Bobcats took a 29-20 lead at the half, the pulled away in the fourth quarter.
"They match up well with our speed, but we can't match up with their size," Hansen said. "And we don't match up with their physical play."
Ashley Thompson led the Falcons (8-10, 4-6 NEMC) with 12 points, with Colleen Wren and Jorie Lucas adding seven apiece.
Lauren Bluhm led Glenn (11-7, 7-3) with 22. |
