OSCODA - Dec. 18, 2007 - Adam Dettmer scored 18 points and pulled down 17 rebounds as Oscoda stayed unbeaten with a 51-31 victory over Lincoln Alcona on Tuesday. It was the third straight victory over the Tigers for the 5-0 Owls, who also played Alcona on Monday and Thursday last week.
"Our rebounding and hustle was much better," said Oscoda coach Scott Lueck. "We know we will be facing bigger teams every night but we just can't concede rebounds and second-chance points. I challenged the kids to hustle for more loose balls and rebounds and I liked the results."
A big second quarter propelled the Owls to a 26-11 halftime lead.
Mike Lamrock added 10 points and six rebounds while Jason Jimenez added eight points, seven rebounds and seven assists. The Owls shot 44 percent from the floor while holding Alcona to a chilly 27 percent.
Oscoda finally gets to square off against a new opponent for the first time in four games as the Owls travel to Standish-Sterling on Thursday.
