JOHN GLENN - Jan. 17, 2008 - In one of the more bizarre contests of the season, Oscoda came all the way back from a 14-point halftime deficit before losing 43-38 to a John Glenn team that didn't make a free throw in the entire contest.
The Bobcats had their outside shooting touch working in the first half as Jordan Snider and Chuck Baumer ganged up to hit five 3-pointers, while Glenn held the Owls' Adam Dettmer to one point in building a 29-15 halftime lead.
Whatever Oscoda coach Scott Lueck said at halftime must have worked, because the Owls came out in the third quarter and ran off an 18-4 run that tied the game at 33-33 heading into the fourth quarter. Dettmer and Jason Jimenez scored all 18 Oscoda point in the period.
But in the fourth quarter, Snider and Baumer recovered their shooting touch and hit big shots down the stretch to help the Bobcats seal the win.
Jimenez finished with 17 points and Dettmer 15 -- 12 in the third quarter -- for the Owls (5-4, 1-4 NEMC). Baumer had 21 and Snider 14 for Glenn (4-6, 2-3), which was just 0-2 at the free throw line.
