SAGINAW - Mar. 21, 2008 - Whittemore-Prescott's boys placed seventh out of 17 Division 3 and 4 teams at Saginaw Valley State's indoor invitational on Friday, paced by a pair of event-winners.
Billy Raushi took the top finish in the high jump with a leap of 6-0, while the 4x200 relay team of Raushi, Chris Downes, Matt Ackerman and Sean Siegrist with a time of 1:39.28.
Raushi also took a medal in the long jump (3rd, 19-7.5), as did Siegrist in the 400 (5th, 54.52). Kane Dietzel also took second place in the shot put (44-1.5).
Reese won the meet with 78 points. The Cards (38 points), finished behind sixth-place Ovid-Elsie, which featured a 9:15 run in the 3200 by University of Wisconsin-bound Maverick Darling, who finished 30 seconds ahead of the entire field that also included more than 20 Division 1 and 2 teams.
W-P opens its outdoor season at home on April 9 against Pinconning.
