OSCODA - May 1, 2008 - Oscoda's softball team pounded out 35 hits in two games Thursday as the Owls swept Lincoln Alcona 19-4 and 15-3 in a non-conference doubleheader.

Riley Shelton earned the win in the opener, allowing four runs on nine hits.

Shelton also hit a home run, while Heather Patterson had a double. Patterson finished with four hits and Heather Spenceley, Nikki Shugart and Abby Samotis each had three hits. Shugart also had three RBIs.

Shugart allowed one earned run in five innings in the second game, striking out two and walking none while allowing four hits.

Leila Cotton had three hits, including a home run, and Dana Kitchen had a home run and two RBIs. Abby Samotis, Abby Wilkerson and ---- Brubaker each added two hits.

The Owls improved to 13-7 on the season.
