HILLMAN - May 8, 2008 - Hillman has been a strong-hitting team for most of the season, but it was the Tigers' pitching that gave AuGres-Sims' softball team fits on Thursday.
The Wolverines managed just five hits in the doubleheader, dropping the first game 9-1 and the second game 12-2.
Hillman opened each game with a big first inning. In the first game, the Tigers scored five times in the opening inning and built on the lead.

Abney pitched a complete game in the loss, allowing 10 hits and striking out four.
In the second game, the Tigers scored seven runs in the first inning to again build a big lead. Kelsey Heinrich had an RBI single in the fifth inning for the Wolverines' lone hit. Amy Turner and Colleen Farnsworth both walked and scored, and Sarah McGuire had an RBI.
