AuGRES-SIMS - Apr. 10, 2008 - Oscoda bumped its record to 4-0 on the young softball season as the Owls swept AuGres-Sims 14-2 and 8-5 in very cold conditions on Thursday.
It was the Wolverines' first doubleheader of the season, and though AGS lost both games coach Jeri Christie saw a lot to be pleased with out of her young team.
"I was happy with our performance considering the circumstances," she said. "We made a few errors we shouldn't have but this being our first game after only four outdoor practices, I was pleased.
"There were several bright spots and I look forward to the season. We are a good team and as long as I can get the girls believing in themselves we'll do just fine."
The Wolverines take on seventh-ranked Tawas Area on Monday, while the Owls host Whittemore-Prescott.
