Outlook: The Owls return much of last season's lineup intact, though they'll need to replace three-year starter Ashley Crawford (early graduation) in goal.
“We have most of our starting lineup returning,” says Oscoda assistant coach Tim Coburn. “We've also added some exciting new freshman players with a lot of youth league experience, and they should challenge some of the starters for playing time.”
Among the key returnees are senior forwards Tricia McDonald and Aubrey Thurston, senior defender Margaret Negro and sophomore forward/midfielder Rushelle Sidebottom.
“Rushelle is back at forward and in better shape than last season and is regaining her speed. Several of the girls are in better shape after coming off a strong volleyball and competitive cheer season.
“Gary and I are quite optimistic about the coming season,” Coburn adds. “We expect to challenge everyone we play. Our team chemistry looks good and barring injuries we should have a solid starting lineup that will put the ball in goal.”
