PINCONNING - May 8, 2008 - Pinconning wrapped up at least a share of the North East Michigan Conference baseball title Thursday with a 17-0 and 12-2 sweep of Whittemore-Prescott.

Steve Moore drilled two home runs and had five RBIs in the opener, while Lucas Foco had for hits and three RBIs to lead Pinny.

Moore earned the win on the mound, tossing a one-hitter and striking out three in the three-inning game.

Mark Jakubik took the loss for W-P.

In the second game, Moore added another home run and Andy Shoemaker hit one of his own, while Ryan Kleinhans, Casey Pashak and Mike Rezler each had two hits.

Barrett Penix earned the win, striking out 10 in four innings of work.

Kyle Saunders, Tristan Kohlhoff and Jordan McCrory had hits for W-P.

The Spartans improved to 17-6 (10-2 NEMC) while W-P fell to 5-16 (0-10).
