PINCONNING - May 5, 2008 - Pinconning's baseball team continued its late-season surge Monday as the Spartans swept Oscoda 9-1 and 13-0 in North East Michigan Conference play.

Casey Pashak picked up the win, allowing one hit and striking out nine in six innings of work. Barrett Penix came on in the seventh and struck out the side.

Andy Shoemaker had two hits and Lucas Foco added a two-run double.

In the second game, Foco and Brett Saha combined in a five-inning no-hitter. Foco struck out seven in four innings. Ryan Kleinhans had three hits with Tim Darby and Pashak adding two apiece.

The Spartans improved to 15-6 (8-2 NEMC) while the Owls fell to 11-13 (2-6).
