LINCOLN - May 21, 2008 - Oscoda began to wind down its regular season Wednesday with a split at Lincoln Alcona.
The Owls won the opening game 10-4, while Alcona came back from a 6-1 deficit to win the second contest 7-6.
Parker Thompson had the first-game win, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and six walks.
Jason Jimenez had two hits, including a triple, and Mike Lamrock added a triple. The Owls pulled away from a 6-3 lead with a four-run sixth inning.
In the second game the Owls scored six runs in the fifth inning to take a five-run lead but couldn't hold on as the Tigers scored three in the fifth and three in the sixth to win it.
Chuck Dumaresq started, but Nick Withrow took the loss in relief.
Nick Smith, Brett Leech and Withrow all had doubles.
The Owls (17-19) open district tournament play at home on Tuesday in a rematch with Alcona.
