OSCODA - May 1, 2008 - Oscoda's baseball team took it on the chin twice in a home doubleheader with Alcona on Thursday.
Alcona topped the Owls 5-1 in the first game and held on for an 8-6 victory in the second contest.
Both teams managed just two hits in the opener, but the Owls were unable to capitalize on nine walks the received in the game.
Jason Jimenez took the loss, allowing one hit and six walks in the first three innings, striking out three. Parker Thompson gave up two unearned runs on one hit over the final three innings, striking out four with no walks.
Jimenez and Bryce Haglund had the Owls' hits.
Thompson had three hits, Chuck Dumaresq had two and Thomas York had two but a four-run rally in the bottom of the fifth fell short before the game was called due to darkness.
Tyler Little took the loss, allowing five hits and six earned runs while pitching the first three innings.
Alcona scored four runs in the first inning and led 8-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth.
The Owls fell to 10-10 on the season.
