HALE - May 8, 2008 - Hale's baseball team evened its North Star League record at 6-6 on Thursday as the Eagles outscored Fairview 16-1 and 16-2.
Kyle Wilson had a pair of doubles while Drew Compau and Roy Bernard each had two hits as the Eagles scored 16 straight runs after falling behind 2-0 midway through the third inning. Christian Moody also had four stolen bases in the game.
Hale blew the game open with a seven-run third inning and a nine-run fourth.
Tyler Allen earned the win, pitching the first three innings and allowing one earned run on three hits, striking out six batters. Tanner Shellenbarger and Kyle Wilson each pitched an inning of relief.
In the second game, Will Hjorth hurled a three-inning three-hitter, giving up one unearned run and striking out three.
The Eagles scored 10 runs in the third inning to end the game early after taking an early 6-1 lead.
Hjorth also had four hits and three RBIs while Shellenbarger added three hits, three RBIs and three steals.
Hale improved to 8-10 overall, while Fairview is 0-11 in NSL play.
