OSCODA - May 27, 2008 - Oscoda overcame a 17-strikeout performance by Alcona pitcher Justin Blohm and scored eight runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Tigers 11-3 in Tuesday's pre-district baseball contest at Oscoda.

The Owls' Parker Thompson struck out just four batters but let his defense do the work as he gave up five hits and two walks and single runs in the first, third and fifth innings.

Blohm gave up eight hits but walked 10.

Brett Leech and Mike Lamrock each had two hits, with Thompson, Nick Smith, Mike Wimmer and Nick Withrow picking up one hit apiece.

The Owls (18-21) take on Roscommon in a 1 p.m. district semifinal match at home on Friday, May 30.
