W-P 1-0-1, AE 0-1-1 at Alcona tri

ALCONA - Sep. 22, 2008 - Whittemore-Prescott bounced back from a rough tournament weekend on Monday with a victory and a split at Lincoln Alcona's tri-meet.

The Cards swept Arenac Eastern 25-9, 25-8 and split with the host Tigers 24-26, 25-13 in front of a raucous Alcona crowd.

Arenac Eastern also earned a split with Alcona, 25-22, 14-25.

"Overall, the girls played better tonight," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "In the Alcona match, the first game was back and forth. A few critical errors, and missed calls from the officials, got us at the end.

"In the second game they served tough and overcame the rowdiness of the Alcona fans to win easily."

Leading W-P (4-9-1) were Kayla Camp with seven aces and 19 assists, Cortney Bork with 14 digs; and Chelsea Jasman with 11 total kills.
