OSCODA - Sep. 20, 2008 - Whittemore-Prescott turned in a disappointing 1-3 day at the Oscoda Invitational on Saturday, defeating AuGres-Sims but falling to their other three opponents.
The Cards lost to the host Owls 23-25, 19-25, lost to eventual champion Ogemaw Heights 13-25, 14-25; beat AuGres-Sims 25-21, 25-10 and lost to Standish-Sterling 10-25, 13-25.
"This was definitely not a good playing day for us," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "It's really frustrating. I felt we played flat and unaggressive.
"We've been playing with sick players this past week, and today it was very obvious. Hopefully we can get our girls all healthy again this week and play to our ability."
The Cards (3-9) were led by Chelsea Jasman with 10 aces, 13 spike kills, six block kills and 24 digs. W-P plays at Alcona on Monday, Sept. 22 and at home against Pinconning on Wednesday.
