Sep. 22, 2008 - Tawas Area vs. Oscoda matches no longer count toward NEMC titles, but the rivalry hasn't meant any less since the Owls left the league this season.

Tawas edged Oscoda 25-21, 13-25, 25-19, 20-25, 15-13, leaving the Owls disappointed after the five-game loss.

"It was a really tough loss for the girls," said Oscoda coach Laura Franklin. "They have been playing as a team so much better than at the beginning of the season.

"All of our close games seem to be going five games; now we just need to push through for the win."

Tawas improved to 7-9 overall with the win, while Oscoda fell to 5-7.
