WHITTEMORE-PRESCOTT - Oct.8, 2008 - Whittemore-Prescott took the first game of Wednesday's NEMC volleyball clash with Standish-Sterling, but the Panthers turned around to take the next three to knock off the Cards 18-25, 25-23, 25-16, 25-21.
"We had a great start tonight," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "Then (we) started having trouble defending the tips. Hitting errors also affected us in Games 3 and 4 and that brought down our team spirit.
"Standish also did a good job of finding the holes in our defense."
Cortney Bork had 14 service points, Larrissa McGeathy had five aces and 11 total kills, Chloe Moraitis had 17 digs and Kayla Camp had 22 assists to lead W-P (5-11-1, 1-6 NEMC).
Standish-Sterling improved to 4-3 in NEMC play.
