PINCONNING - Oct. 29, 2008 - Pinconning avenged its early-season defeat to Whittemore-Prescott on Wednesday, defeating the Cardinals in three games 25-16, 25-23, 25-18.

"We couldn't seem to stay focused and get fired up to play tonight," said W-P coach Helen Loomis. "Our serving and hitting seemed better but our defense did not play up to their potential.

"We're ready to put this part of the season behind us and focus on districts."

W-P finished the regular-season at 13-20-1 (1-9 overall) and plays the host team in the Oscoda district on Wednesday, Nov. 5.

Pinconning opens district play the same night at NEMC champ John Glenn.
