OSCODA - Sep. 20, 2008 - Oscoda broke even at Saturday's Owl Invitational, defeating AuGres-Sims and Whittemore-Prescott but losing to Hale and Ogemaw Heights.

The Owls topped AGS 25-14, 25-15 and W-P 25-23, 25-19. Hale, which took second in the tournament, beat Oscoda 25-19, 25-22 and Ogemaw, the tournament champ, topped the Owls 25-16, 25-16,

"We played the morning very good," said Oscoda coach Laura Franklin. "We were calling the ball and talking really well. In the afternoon, we had some fundamental mistakes."

Franklin said Lelia Cotton had a strong game at the net.

"She slowed down a lot of hits in every game," Franklin said.

The Owls head into the week with a 4-6 mark.
